Curiosity

Some of the best business minds of this decade say that curiosity is one of the most important traits that leads to success. Curiosity is a strong desire to know or learn something. Yoga and curiosity is a powerful combination – one rooted in both ancient wisdom and a modern mindset. At its heart, yoga is about awareness and presence – qualities that naturally foster curiosity.
Curiosity is what brings you to the mat, and it’s an essential ingredient of a yoga practice. Approaching yoga with curiosity means: listening to the body, exploring the mind and adapting the practice. Without curiosity, you may never seek the truth, and without curiosity, it is impossible to shift our perspective. It allows us to keep our practice fresh by trying new things and go deeper into our practice.
Shifting our perspective allows us to shift the narrative, leading to resilience, creativity and clarity. It allows us to take what seems rigid – our limitations, habits or beliefs – and see the possibility for growth and transformation. On our mats, shifting our perspective might mean finding ease in a challenging pose or viewing discomfort as a teacher rather than an obstacle. Off the mat, it could look like meeting failure not with judgement, but with wonder. Even life’s most difficult experiences can become fruitful ground for growth.
Curiosity and shifting our perspective allows us to navigate life’s complexities more gracefully. Come welcome the unknown on your mat with Satsanga Yoga and remember that every pose and every breath holds the potential for a new perspective. Come be inspired to open your heart and change your mind.
