Ease Up and Breathe

As we move throughout our days – balancing responsibilities, expectations, and the constant hum of “what’s next” – it’s easy to become our own toughest critic. In yoga, and in life, we often push, strive, and quietly measure ourselves against an invisible standard.
This month, I invite you to soften that edge.
Not everything needs to be perfected. Not every moment needs to be optimized. And not every thought deserves your full attention.
In your practice, notice where you grip – physically and mentally. Is it in the shoulders that inch toward your ears? The jaw that clenches just a little? Or the inner voice that says, “I should be better at this by now”?
What if, instead, you approached yourself with the same patience and kindness you offer others?
Yoga reminds us that progress isn’t linear, and growth often happens in subtle, unseen ways. The wobble in Tree Pose, the extra breath in a challenging sequence, the decision to simply show up – these are all victories.
And off the mat, the same applies. The small annoyances, the imperfect moments, the things that don’t go as planned – they don’t need to carry so much weight.
Let them pass.
