Keep it Simple

Theresa Mozzocci | SEP 1, 2025

At the start of every week I think about the theme for my yoga classes. I look to many different sources for inspiration to blend intention, sequencing and accessibility. Sometimes I need to remind myself that classes don’t need to be complex to be effective.

In a world that often moves too quickly and asks too much of us, it’s easy to forget that peace can be found in simplicity. Simplicity isn’t about giving up everything – it’s about making space for what truly matters. When we simplify, we clear the mind of unnecessary noise; free the body from extra tension and open the heart to what’s real and meaningful. Simplicity doesn’t mean having less joy, less connection, or less purpose – it means removing the distractions that keep us from truly experiencing them.

Yoga reminds us that we don’t need more to feel whole – we need less. A single deep breath. A practice of just Sun A’s. A quiet moment in savasana. These simple tools help bring us back to balance. It’s not about complicated shapes or endless sequences but about returning to the essentials.

This month:

·       Say no to one thing that feels heavy;

·       Create a little more space in your schedule or your home;

·       Chose one pose and hold it with steady breath instead of rushing through many.

Simplicity is an act of kindness toward yourself. It’s a reminder that you already have what you need.
