May 2023 - The Power of Movement

Theresa Mozzocci | APR 23, 2023

Like many, I got into yoga for the work-out. It was something I always enjoyed. The more I practiced the more I understood all the benefits of the mind-body connection. What I noticed the most was the joy I felt when I moved my body – even when I couldn’t touch my toes. I became a yoga instructor because I wanted to help others find that joy.

When someone begins a yoga practice, they never truly know where it may take them. The beauty of yoga is that it opens us more to ourselves. Yoga nurtures the body, tends to our heart, balances the brain, helps us find strength and find stillness. It teaches us we can struggle into a pose or find ease (peace) and enjoy the journey. The real benefit comes when we take that knowledge off our mats into our everyday life.

Yoga and movement can be wonderful tools for increasing our capacity to withstand the stressors of life. I am a believer in the power of movement, how it helps us continue to learn, grow and positively adapt. Satsanga Yoga’s classes are infused with movements that are designed to increase your body’s capacity to move and move well. There is an emphasis on active ranges of motion, strength work, active mobility and dynamic stability. Check out Satsanga Yoga’s video library to find what moves you…practice anywhere at any time.

Class Highlight: We all live busy lives so I have added some shorter classes this month to the schedule – designed to keep you moving, re-energize and refresh you without the anxiety of overwhelming your time. If you are new to yoga, these classes are designed to get you into a yoga routine – where your body begins to adjust to feeling good and will crave more of it.
