Routines

I am one of those people who likes to have a daily routine; and I think many of us fall into that camp – especially if you make working out a high priority. I am not talking about an hour by hour schedule, but more of a constant, consistent habit. I’ve been off my routine for a few weeks. With my move, my routine has been shaken up and I have had to put some effort into making it to my yoga mat.

Life happens. To all of us. It is full of twists and curveballs and some really, really flat spaces. Daily routines/habits challenge us to rise to the occasion. They help us bring a level of intentionality to our lives. Having a routine allows us to make space for our passions and focus on things within our control.

I believe the purpose of a daily routine is to help us make room for what matters – for me that means making it to my mat and moving my body in a healthy and mindful way. Life can come at us fast and its easy to get into a cycle of running on fumes. It is easy to sacrifice ourselves, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically and it is hard to get back on track.

Sometimes we forget but we do have a choice to lean into something better; to fill ourselves up so that our well-being matters. The key to this is to set a daily routine--one that is true to who you are. Make a routine that you can excel and stick to rather than setting yourself up for failure from the beginning. “Baby Steps”

Join Satsanga Yoga this month and develop your regular routine on your mat in the midst of inconsistencies that life often brings. Your well-being matters – creating and maintaining a regular routine gives you permission to invest in yourself and what matters to you. Challenge yourself to take a month of online classes – it takes 4-6 weeks to create a healthy habit.

Class Highlight: Join Satsanga Yoga for an evening class of Yin & Yang Flow. Classes begin with gentle flow and end with a good cooling down of stretches. These classes are offered twice during the month of June.
